I’m not asking, Politico is:
Earlier this month, FactCheck.org stated that if Mitt Romney had not left Bain Capital in 1999, he “would be guilty of a federal felony by certifying on federal financial disclosure forms that he left active management of Bain Capital in February 1999.”
FactCheck.org made that argument to dismiss complaints by President Barack Obama’s campaign, but a new Boston Globe report on Romney’s true tenure at Bain Capital — which reportedly lasted until 2002, three years longer than Romney has stated — brings FactCheck.org’s statement into sharp relief.
***
“In fact, if the Obama campaign were correct, Romney would be guilty of a federal felony by certifying on federal financial disclosure forms that he left active management of Bain Capital in February 1999.”
So what does the Mitt Romney campaign say about him breaking the law? They say it’s just a “quirk in the law.”
Really? That’s what they’re going with? Pull up the chairs folk. This one’s gonna be fun.
You kinda got to feel sorry for Mitt Romney though. He’s just too pretty to go to jail…

Please get over yourself, Mitt Romney did nothing criminal and by all accounts left Bain in 1999. Say I retire from a company but still have my 401K invested in that companies profit sharing plan, does that mean Im still actively involved in the decisions made by said company? No it does not. You and the Obama campaign are just trying to distract Americans from the economy, so you hype up a non issue and call someone a criminal so that hopefully voters wont notice that Obama has no record to run on. Even the Liberal Washington Post is calling BS on this story. Click through some links if you dont believe me, and how about you do some damn research before you put out a carbon copy post of whatever media matters sent you.

Romney may be technically okay, but perception is reality in politics. He was paid $100,000 a year for being an “executive” after 1999.
Think about it this way. If Romney was totally absolved from all responsibility, then Bain was operating without a CEO, President, and Board Chairman for two years. Is that good corporate governance? Is that a good model for companies to emulate? Especially during a period of transition of ownership/management of a large firm? Romney has to own one side of the issue or the other. And either side stinks.
The president DOES have a positive record to run on. He helped create and save millions of jobs since 2008, he saved the Middle Class another tax increase by signing Obamacare, and he has a strong foreign policy record….remember, he was the one that gave the order to go after Bin Laden and he ended the COSTLY wars in Iraq and is ending the one in Afghanistan. Two wars that were put on the credit card from China by the GOP, and added to our deficit. He’s our guy for President and he will move this country forward!!
