This weekend, AR-03 Democratic candidate Ken Aden began the second Run To End Hunger.  The run will carry Aden the entire length of the third district, from Russelville to the Missouri border and around down to Fort Smith.  Last I checked in, over 8,000 cans had been pledged to help out needy families if Ken completes the run, and as of the writing Ken is just leaving Jasper.

When was the last time a politician in any party in Arkansas did something like this for needy Arkansas families?  Something that wasn’t just talk but something that actually required some sacrifice and showed that they cared about our state and the people in it?  I can’t think of any comparable example.  I really can’t.

So let’s pitch in and help Ken in the fight against poverty and hunger in our state.  You can pledge to contribute cans here.  How many cans of green beans or soup do you have sitting in your pantry that you can spare?  Even if it’s just two or three, each can would be a blessing to a needy Arkansas family.

And while you’re at it, show your support for a great guy who’s really stepped up to do this.  Contribute to Aden for Congress on ActBlue and show Democrats across the state that this is how you walk the walk, and that we will help candidates who will help needy Arkansas families.

Aden is using techniques from the Mark Pryor playbook. He should suck in that gut and tighten up his butt cheeks before posing like this. While his cause is meritorious, well, let’s just leave it at that and wish him well. Hope he stays out of trouble (unlike Pryor).

That man is in better shape than Pryor ever will be. And he can gain some sympathy weight while his wife is pregnant.

    He’s going to win.
