Yesterday, men and women alike, rallied around the country in opposition to the war on women. Here in Arkansas, two rallies in Little Rock and Fayetteville boasted large numbers of attendees. (There was also a smaller rally in Jonesboro.) The one in Little Rock at upwards of around 130 people show up, many of them from as far away as Texarkana and Conway. I don’t know what the final count came to from the Fayetteville rally but by all accounts, it blew the one in Little Rock out of the water-no small feat.
From Little Rock:
These rallies were a stunning success, with activists and politicians a like speaking at them and people from all walks of life in attendance. The push to ratify the ERA in Arkansas has truly become a movement and it’s not going away. And it’s only going to get bigger. We are going to make this happen, no matter what.
Update: Just spoke with one of the organizers for the Fayetteville rally and she said the final count was well over 300 people!
