AR-03: Womack Mails Out A Push Poll

This is the poll Congressman Steve Womack emailed out to his constituents.  Tell me if you can guess what response the Congressman is pushing for:

Do you support the 10 month extension of the Payroll Tax Cut?

– Yes, even if it’s not paid for and adds $100 billion dollars to our deficit.
– Yes, provided it’s paid for.
– No
– Unsure

The payroll tax cut has been a major thorn in the side of Congressional Republicans and Womack is no exception.  Remember, he opposed the payroll tax extension (singing a dandy little tune while he did it) and then claimed that compromise as evidence that he can reach across the isle.  Ken Aden meanwhile made passing the payroll tax cut to middle class, working families a part of his platform from day one.  Make no  mistake, Womack knows he’s vulnerable on this issue which is why he’s trying to spin it, something he normally wouldn’t bother to do were it not for the surprisingly strong challenge he’s getting from Ken.  Perhaps though his constituents should ask him why he worries about adding to the deficit now when it comes to the middle class tax cut but not when it comes to extending the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy or oil subsidies.  Then again, better not ask him…he might scream at you.

By the way, I paid a visit to the new Aden for Congress campaign office in Russellville and it is freakin’ sweet!  It is literally an even nicer office than Bill Halter had in Jonesboro when he ran for the Senate.  This campaign is coming together in a big way and without a dime of corporate PAC money.  It’s all because of folks like you that have contributed small donations-whatever they could and whenever they could-and believed in Ken and his message when the party establishment, the wealthy powers that be, and his opponent all wrote him off.  So let’s keep the momentum going!  Contribute to Aden for Congress on ActBlue today!!!
