Normally, when I realize a kid is a lot smarter and braver than I am it scares me to death. This kid though is amazing! Whatever you think about saying the Pledge in Public Schools (and for the record I don’t have a problem with it) you’ve got to admit that the kid’s got guts and brains. And he’s right-we as a country aren’t fully living up to our ideals in a great many ways. His parents deserve enormous credit for raising such a bright, courageous kid that knows words that I have to look up and cares enough about others to endure the abuse you can get in school (and we all know how hard that can be). The best part, to me, is that he and his family are from Arkansas. If this doesn’t show the rest of the country that we’re not all Orval Faubus and Jim Holt clones I don’t know what will.
