Fort Smith has had some hard luck of late.  Last October, it was announced that Whirlpool, a major employer there, was packing up and leaving. Needless to say, the loss of 1,000 jobs is pretty devastating to any community, and from what a few contacts out that way have told me there are a lot of folks ringing their hands over what they’re going to do now.  Well, Democratic Congressional candidate Ken Aden is doing his part to help out, sponsoring a resume building class in Sebastian County.  The event will take place at The Windsor Drive Branch Library, 4701 Windsor Drive Fort Smith, AR 72903 from 1:00pm until 3:30pm on Saturday, January 7, 2012.  It’s open to the public obviously, and this isn’t the only thing Ken is planning to help out the community.  The plan is to follow this up with a jobs fair in Fort Smith a little later on.  Considering what happened with Whirlpool and the general state of the economy, I’m sure a lot of folks are going to be really thankful for this.

Again, this really can’t be dismissed as a gimmick.  Aden was doing things like this and the toy drive he did long before he decided to run for Congress. This is part of who this guy is and what he’s done with his life, and it’s a big part of what will make him an excellent Congressman.  And if you like what you’re seeing from this guy, you can always help him out by contributing on ActBlue.
