On Thursday, Senate Republicans again proved their commitment to “Jobs! Jobs! Jobs!” by filibustering part of President Obama’s jobs package again.
Senate Republicans, again, filibustered a component of President Obama’s jobs bill, the Rebuild America Jobs Act. In any other world, it would have passed 51-47, but this is a Senate, so a majority vote means that the bill dies. Go USA!
And yes, Pryor stuck his tail between his legs and voted right this time. Apparently, holding his feet to the fire did the trick, at least for this round. We’ll have to keep breathing down his neck though to make sure he does so again.
Meanwhile, Republicans are still pushing tax cuts and deregulation as “jobs bills” while killing things like infrastructure spending that will actually help. But hey, it’s all about hurting the economy to beat Obama. That’s all they care about-and if the American people suffer during the process, so be it.
