Mike Huckabee: For Cap and Trade Before He Was Against It

Something tells me this is not something that the Huckster wants coming up during the looming presidential primaries.  A little while back, Huckabee adamantly denied that he had ever, EVER, supported cap and trade:

In a recent internet post, a contributor makes the claim that I supported cap-and-trade in late 2007 while running for President.

To put it simply, that’s just not true.

Just one little problem.  The folks at Think Progress have the video.  Roll the tape!

And the transcript:

I also support cap and trade of carbon emissions. And I was disappointed that the Senate rejected a carbon counting system to measure the sources of emissions, because that would have been the first and the most important step toward implementing true cap and trade.

Ol’ Mike never did let being a good Christian and all that jazz get in the way of telling a whopper of a lie.  But we knew that already.  Still, I bet there are a lot of teabaggers that are going to snub him now, and I know a certain Alaskan Governor who’s going to love running ads on this in Iowa.
