Tim Felon’s Sickening Committee Appointments

So far, the committee appointments for the three incoming GOP reps had been pretty mundane.  Crawford has agriculture and transportation.  Nothing surprising there.  Womack got appropriations, a post he apparently hopes to use to shutdown the government and plunge our economy into turmoil.  But now comes word from Tim Griffin on his committee positions:

“I am honored to be appointed to serve on the Armed Services Committee and look forward to supporting America’s military and their families. As home to over 70,000 veterans, thousands of active military, Guardsmen and Reserve, I am excited about representing the Second District which plays a critical role in our national defense.

“I am equally honored to be appointed to the Judiciary Committee and being a part of its important work, including strengthening our nation’s security, protecting children from Internet predators, conducting vigorous oversight, preventing frivolous lawsuits and protecting intellectual property.”

Wow, where to begin…First off, there will now be an unconvicted felon serving on the Judiciary Committee…a man who worked to deny American citizens the right to vote on the committee that’s supposed to protect our civil rights.  (Notice, Griffin left that part out of his committee description.)  Secondly, the man who disgustingly targeted soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan in his voter suppression gambit, is going to be serving on the committee that deals directly with the armed forces.  I wish this was something I could just shake my head at but it really is stomach churning.

Nothing like the smell of Wellstone! agitprop in the morning.

Can I start calling you an unconvicted felon as well?
