Why can’t we get an election right in this state?
Seriously, how hard is it to make sure that everyone who should be on the ballot is on the ballot? Apparently it’s next to impossible, because in St. Francis County this kind of mistake has now left off candidates for the state rep race there and it’s affected a city council race in Forrest City. And yeah, it’s not the first election problem St. Francis County has had. Remember the Senate District 16 race between Jack Crumbly and Arnell Willis? Yeah, that got ugly…
Now, St. Francis Election Commission Chairman Frederick Freeman, who I suppose in the interest of full disclosure I should say that I know personally and have worked with him in the past (yes, I had a front row seat to the 2006 problems there), is saying that they could well dump all the votes that have been cast and start from scratch. I have no idea if he can legally do that or not, but either way it’s troubling.
Seriously, WTF is wrong with our election system in this state that something so simple is so problematic. And really, how many are we going to have in this election before the dust settles?

I fail to see which party Mr. Freeman belongs to.
Surely you are not omitting it for partisan purposes.
Dare we Detail whom this Deleterious Dilemma is Due to?
@BurnNotice? According to Title 7 of the Arkansas Annotated Code the County Election Commission is non-partisan. It also ultimately falls under DOJ after all Arkansas remedies have been exhausted. Anyone so skilled at internet activities should know that said informaton lies here: http://www.arkansas.gov/sbec/search_ec.cgiCounty Election Commission meetings are all on file at the County Courthouse where you may easily see that members from various political parties sit on said committee. Individuals that tend to try to point out party preference as being the issue here are usually implying that all members of the said commission are duplicitously participating in implied activities.
