Bill Halter and African Americans in Arkansas

May 27, 2010 No Comments ›› jsamuel

I can see why Blanche Lincoln is going all out to try to stop the tide of African Americans voting for Bill Halter. If Bill Halter can win both rural whites and African Americans, he will be defying a national trend that Democrats have been trying to defy for decades. Also of note, Halter destroys ...

DailyKos/Research 2000 - MOE 5% Democratic primary Blanche Lincoln (D) 44 Bill Halter (D) 47 Undecided 9 I am encouraged by Halter's lead in the polls, but Halter supporters should not take this lead for granted. Halter has not hit the ever so important ...

Lincoln’s Clinton Rally at Philander Smith Highlights Her Contradictions

May 27, 2010 No Comments ›› jsamuel

Blanche Lincoln's campaign will be holding an event with former President Bill Clinton at a traditionally African American college, Philander Smith, this weekend. This is an obvious attempt to get the African American vote in the runoff. While she brings out the big guns to get their votes, she votes against them in the Senate. ...

Blanche Lincoln Is Chicken

May 26, 2010 1 Comment ›› ARDem

Blanche Lincoln is the most spineless, whimpy politician in Arkansas.  Check her statement on the debating Bill Halter again: Little Rock - U.S. Sen. Blanche Lincoln today said she is prepared to meet Bill Halter for a fourth debate as soon as he tells Arkansas voters where he stands on card check legislation. "My stand on this ...

Chad Causey Gains Momentum/Endorsements

May 26, 2010 No Comments ›› ARDem

State Senator Steve Bryles has joined with Blue Arkansas hero David Cook and is endorsing Chad Causey for Congress in AR-01.  Together, the three of them have hit Blytheville, Jonesboro, and Pocahontas all in one day.  I was wondering if Bryles was going to do this, he had, after all, gone out of his way to ...

Halter Ad Focuses on His Friends and Family

May 26, 2010 No Comments ›› jsamuel

Great ad. It reinforces the message that Bill Halter wants to work for Arkansans, not special interests. It is also nice to see a member of his family in the ad. It stresses that Halter will protect social security, a response to the negative attacks on him from the Lincoln campaign.

More Half Truth’s From Blanche Lincoln

May 25, 2010 No Comments ›› ARDem

Check Blanche's newest ad: Notice that beyond the general progressive theme, Blanche Lincoln uses Rachel Maddow (who last I checked wasn't all that fond of Lincoln) to kick off the ad. If that's not a pander to progressives I don't know what is. And honestly, this would be a great ad...if it wasn't a ...

Tim Wooldridge’s Vote Against Military Men And Women

May 25, 2010 No Comments ›› ARDem

In 2005, an act was introduced in the state legislature to raise the state income tax exemption on the pay of enlisted members of the armed services from $6,000 to $12,000.  The $6,000 dollar figure had been in place for about thirty years and it was time for a change.  However, when the bill made ...

Roby Brock and the Talk Business Poll Were Right

May 24, 2010 No Comments ›› jsamuel

I have been meaning to post this since election night. It needs to be said. The Talk Business poll was the only one to predict the level of support received by D.C. Morrison. It also was probably about right in the distance between Blanche Lincoln and Bill Halter at the time. The Lincoln campaign was furious ...

AR-01: Screen Out The Republicans; Vote For Chad Causey

May 24, 2010 No Comments ›› ARDem

By now a lot of people have seen that the Republicans have put out a big statement attacking Tim Wooldridge.  It's also pretty transparent that they're trying to influence the choice in AR-01.  Whether they want Chad Causey to be the nominee because they think he's the weaker candidate or because they want Democrats to flock ...
